I want to tell trips to several places in the city of Bengkulu. One of wich is the city's famous castle in Bengkulu
Fort Marlborough also known as Malabro) is a British fort,
located in the city of Bengkulu, Sumatra. It was built between 1713-1719 by the
East India Company under the leadership of Governor Joseph Collett as a bulwark
for the UK Bencoolen. This is one of the strongest place in Indonesia British fort in the eastern region.
The fort is made of bricks with a thickness of 50-180 centimeters. An earthquake in 2000, a magnitude 7.3 on the Richter scale, and in 2007, with a tsunami of 3.5 meters, had no effect on the strength of the castle.

The castle has a rectangular layout, with an arrow-shaped at
each corner. The entrance to the fort in the southwest. A wooden bridge spans
that separates the main building from the front of the building. Southwest side
has an entrance arch with a wooden door. Fortress covers 2.7 hectares, and over
an area of 4.4 hectares.

Fort Marlborough is the existing heritage in the city of
Bengkulu. The castle is located in the city center and the area called Kampung.

Marlborough is the official name, but local people call Malabro
(Malioboro reportedly comes from the Marlborough too, right?). The name of this

Duke of Marlborough I.
The fortress was built by the trading business of the British East India Company the early 18th century (1713-1719). Governors at that time named Joseph Callet. The building resembles a tortoise castle stands on an area of approximately 44,100 square meters and facing south.
The British colonial government ruled the province of Bengkulu for approximately 140 years (1685-1825). So this fort still has a shape that corresponds to the building's original design of the 17th century. The shape is similar to a picture fort fortress in western movies and have a bridge, situated on the seafront.

Fort Marlborough is one long history of being owned by the city of Bengkulu, supposed historical evidence is preserved and maintained well to remember the past of this city.
